Prof. Peter J. Stang is an internationally recognized scientist in chemistry. He is a fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Chemical Society (ACS), the American Association for Advancement of Science, a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He has received National Medal of Science, F. A. Cotton Medal for Excellence in Chemical Research, Priestly Medal, Linus Pauling Medal from ACS, Fred Basolo Medal for Outstanding Research in Inorganic Chemistry. Now he is the Distinguished Professor of Chemistry in the University of Utah. He is also the senior fellow of the Loker Hydrocarbon Research Institute in the University of Southern California, the chief editor of the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS).

Prof. Peter J. Stang mainly engaged in the research of supramolecular self-assembly. He has made the significant contribution to the coordination chemistry, organic metal and iodine chemistry. He is one of the best-known scientists in the field of the molecule construction and molecular assembly. So far he has more than 500 scientific publications and a number of patents which produced important influence on the field of chemistry.
